Bringing Sexy Back??

The other day the headline in one of the trade magazines was titled "Bringing Sexy Back"---not exactly a standard headline for the meetings industry.

The article was on the Fountainbleu in Miami which has recently had one billion dollars invested into it. They have brought it back to its heyday of the "hot" place in Miami...but in many ways better.

What they described sounded fun, elegant, upscale...and yes sexy. But how does this work with marketing for meetings?

In a time when many corporations cannot book a meeting at a Ritz Carlton, or anything with the words "resort" or "spa" in it due to image...where will this property fit in?

I had already been given a heads up by a peer in the industry about the marketing materials she had received....women in thong bikinis (did anyone remember that the majority of meeting planners are women??) , they have a topless pool, and that SEX is written all over everything. Try putting this though procurement or legal.

This woman and I are far from prudes--in fact we both agreed this would probably be a fun place to go for a rather upscale, no families, a little "off the wall" vacation---but a corporate meeting?

Will be interesting to watch.
